I have the first generation of ipod touch and a macbook, but I really want the ipad and my ipod touch dosent work that well. Should I get it? Is it a waste?

i thought it would be more like a mac then an iphone.
It doesnt have a disk drive so i can play dvds or pc games.

I want a Ipad can u download everthing in a ipad?

I have read a lot of negative reviews of ipad. What it is so bad about the ipad?
